The Greater Kansas City Chamber's Surface Transportation Committee meeting will be held at 7:30am, Thursday, May 5, at The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in the Board Room. (911 Main St., 26th Floor Kansas City, Missouri).

There will be an update from MODOT regarding the funding priority projects for the Kansas City region.
Clyde Prem with HNTB will provide an update on the Missouri River Bridge Crossing. MoDOT / HNTB is currently studying the Paseo Bridge and corridor through the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process. The EIS is developing a proposed project to reconstruct the section of I-29/35 between M-210 and the CBD. The EIS also will help determine the preferred method for meeting future traffic needs and analyze potential highway and bridge improvements that would provide safer, more efficient travel along I-29/35 at the Paseo Bridge.
MAX (Metro Area Express) is the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority's (KCATA) new bus rapid transit line connecting River Market, Downtown, Crown Center, the Plaza and UMKC with fast, frequent, and easy to use all day service. It is being developed in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri and opens in July 2005.
