Name: Ribbon Cutting - Frye & Company
Date: March 7, 2006 - March 28, 2006
Event Description:

The Chamber will be hosting a ribbon cutting for Founders at Union Hill.  Please join The Chamber and Mayor Kay Barnes next Tues., March 7 at 3:45.   They are located in the buildings right behind the Greenlease Building on Gilham.

Union Hill is alive and growing. At the center of this growth is The Founders, a 9.2 acre mixed use, luxury urban development located on the southern edge of Crown Center. Locally owned and controlled, The Founders is adding over 500 new luxury residences and is inspired by Chicago's Michigan Avenue which showcases the classic stone and brick architecture of new and refurbished buildings and pedestrian friendly streetscapes. 45,000 square feet of commercial space will feature the Union Hill Athletic Club and other conveniences, such as a bank, coffee shop, dry cleaner and bakery. All of the necessities. All in the neighborhood.

The project name was inspired by the numerous founding men and women of Kansas City whose final resting place is Union Cemetery. These famous early citizens include the founder of the Pony Express, early mayors, founders of Kansas City's first banks, activists and an internationally renowned artist. Through hard work and perseverance, these individuals created the city we know today as Kansas City. The Founders at Union Hill honors their lasting impact, by creating a project of timeless beauty and value to be enjoyed by generations to come.  They will have actors at the event portraying several of these Kansas City historical figures.
