Name: Revitalization of Kansas City
Date: September 27, 2006
Time: 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

The Revitalization of Kansas City Series is a monthly series of programs intended to build and maintain momentum toward a healthy and vibrant urban core by engaging the public in issues facing downtown Kansas City.  The Greater Kansas City Chamber has partnered with The Central Exchange in support of this series.

Anthony Amato, Superintendent of the Kansas City Missouri Public School System, will discuss his philophy and vision for the school district.  Amato has served 18 years as a superintendent in districts including New Orleans, Hartford, Conn. and New York City.  He is no stranger to repairing districts in academic crisis.  Most recently, in New Orleans, he made critical reforms that paid off with signature schools designed to provide parents with educational choices, higher passing rates in algebra and science, and smaller learning communities in all high schools.  Amato's vision for Kansas City ranges from stronger early childhood programs to an expectation that all high school students take at least one college advanced-placement course or dual college-credit course.

Reservations are required for this luncheon program and can be made by calling The Central Exchange at (816) 471-7560 ext. 10. The cost to attend is $20 for Chamber members (please mention Chamber membership when registering) and $25 to the general public.  There is no charge for members of The Central Exchange.
