The Kansas State Affairs Committee will kick the New Year off with a bang at its January 9 meeting when we get an up close and personal look at what Judge Bullock's decision on school finance really means for Kansas Schools and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties. Senator John Vratil and Representative Jim Yonally will give Committee members their insights on this tumultuous decision and what opportunities may exist for innovative school funding solutions.
And just when you thought that was a pretty full meeting agenda in itself, we are pleased to present another January agenda item on proposed legislation to authorize funding of the SmartMoves Regional Transportation Plan, with presenter David Warm, Executive Director, Mid America Regional Council.
Lunch will be available for those who make a reservation at a cost of $15, payable at the door. To ensure enough lunches are ordered for this meeting, please RSVP to Jennifer Parrott at 816-374-5447 or parrott@kcchamber.com by January 6. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Bennett at 816-374-5412 or bennett@kcchamber.com.
RSVP today and don't miss this lively 2004 kick-off meeting.
