History reveals the unique challenges faced by African Americans in times of war, and indeed during peacetime.

As we commemorate the centennial of WWI, join us for a discussion with Colonel (ret) Krewasky A. Salter, Ph.D., (Guest) Associate Curator of Military History and Military Subject Matter Expert (SME) at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) where he curates the inaugural exhibition titled: Double Victory: The African American Military Experience.

Dr. Salter will offer a presentation and take questions associated with the complex meanings and enduring impact of WWI through the lens of African Americans. This program is presented in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.
