Healthy Reforms: National Trends and How Kansas City Measures Up
A Healthy Discussion About How Health Care Reform Applies To Our Community, Our States and Our Nation
Chamber members consistently tell us that the rising cost of health care is a priority issue for their business. But did you know the future of Kansas City's health care reform is in all of our hands? Find out if we're moving in the right direction on Thursday, October 4, 7:30 a.m., at the Liberty Memorial Auditorium. You are invited to attend "Healthy Reforms: National Trends and How Kansas City Measures Up," presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, in conjunction with The Chamber's Health Care Council of Greater Kansas City.
Join Dr. James Mongan, former dean of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and former chief executive officer of Truman Medical Center, as he discusses the current status of Universal Health Care in Massachusetts. Steve Aldana, Ph.D., of Brigham Young University, will share his findings on the impact of lifestyle on disease, quality of life, and health care costs. Local health care leaders will discuss the trends, expectations and some startling statistics about the state of health care in Greater Kansas City.
As our city progresses and broadens its ambitions, it is crucial that our health care must keep up. The goal of this discussion is to not only highlight the importance of health and wellness but to also raise awareness of the cost impact of lifestyle on disease and quality of life.
