When Cheaters Prosper - Understanding Market & Economic Failure

Even as the crash of 2008 unfolded, the questions began.  What drove the collapse?  What was the scale of the losses?  And how could so massive a failure have taken shape under the noses of bankers and regulators alike? 

In search of those answers and more, The Chamber has invited Dr. Bill Black to speak at our next Economic Forum on Thursday, December 3.  Dr. Black is both an economist and a lawyer and an expert on white-collar crime and financial fraud.  A former legal counsel to the Office of Thrift Supervision, deputy director of the FSLIC, and an expert on the S&L crisis of the the 1980s and 1990s, Dr. Black has appeared frequently on television and for publication with his views on what went wrong this time around - and what needs to change.  We're delighted to welcome a leading authority like Dr. Black to the Economic Forum and hope you'll be able to join us with your questions.
