Defending The Heartland - Countering Agro-Terrorism
Economic Forum
Tuesday, February 13th
5:00 - 6:30 PM
In a world of shifting threats, the potential consequences of deliberate terrorist action against American grain and livestock production are huge. If such an attack took place in our area, direct losses to farmers and agribusiness would be bad enough. Add in likely quarantines on travel and shipping, loss of export markets and a stressed regional economy and you've got a recipe for serious fiscal trouble.
How real are these risks, and what are we doing to prepare for them? Find out with the Greater Kansas City Chamber's Economic Forum on February 13th. We're proud to welcome two experts on these subjects from Kansas State University - Dr. Jerry Jaax and Dr. James Stack, who'll give us their views on what's out there, what the fallout might amount to and what we're already doing in order to prepare.
There is no cost to attend an Economic Forum, but you must be a Chamber Member - and refreshments will be served.
