Event Description:

Don't miss our first Economic Forum

Coming to terms with Katrina and Rita

Wednesday October 19th 5-6:30, The Chamber Boardroom

The winds are gone and the skies have cleared, but the stormy melody lingers on in Louisiana, Texas and beyond.  Less than two months after the first of two major hurricanes slammed into the Gulf Coast, America is busy picking up the pieces and starting to rebuild.

We are also starting to get a handle on what the long-term cost of rebuilding and reconstruction will be and how long it may take.  With a major city badly hurt, with key oil and natural gas infrastructure damaged and with whole Gulf Coast towns simply gone, what does it all mean for our regional economy and the American economy as a whole?

Please join us for an informative, informal and lively discussion with experts in construction and engineering, energy, transportation and banking as we look at the damage and then look to the future in the wake of these remarkably destructive storms.

And in case the name Economic Forum has you stumped, not to worry.  We are updating what used to be the Economic Advisory Board by encouraging all Chamber Members to attend these quarterly events.  We also will have appetizers and potables on hand for what promises to be an intriguing and topical talk.  There is no charge for the event, but we do need to know if you can attend.  Please RSVP below or contact Heather LeBlanc at leblanc@kcchamber.com or at 816-374-5472.
