The Chamber's 2005 Economic Forecast Mid-Year Breakfast will cover the demographic challenges ahead for the local, U.S. and global economies. Population growth within key groups, especially those age 65 and over, will lead to changes in a variety of industries including real estate, health care, and insurance, as well as others you might not realize.
- Frank Lenk, Director of Research for Mid-America Regional Council, will present the 2005 Forecast Mid-Year Update.Craig Hakkio, Senior Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will discuss economic and fiscal implications of a changing workforce.
- Stanley W. Suchman, Regional Commissioner for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, will discuss employment projections for Kansas and Missouri labor markets, as well as challenges ahead for employers caused by an aging workforce.
