Education
This task force should focus on Kansas City's need to establish high quality educational institutions across the metropolitan area. Specifically, this task force should address initiatives being implemented at every level that identify best methods for transforming educational institutions into models for success. For example, the First Things First initiative in Kansas City, Kansas, Achievement First in KCMO, and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation's effort to elevate local universities to world-class research. There should be an emphasis on higher education and workforce training . Some examples being KU Med's working towards a NCI designation and the pursuit of a Confucius Institute in the Kansas City region.
