Husch Blackwell partner Ed Wilson has been practicing corporate law for over 10 years and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on private equity transactions. Ed's private equity experience includes time advising private equity clients regarding formation, regulatory, and investment matters. Additionally, Ed works on general commercial transactions, including negotiations of commercial contracts, and significant experience with entity structuring and formation matters.
Diontre Pewitt, Assistant Vice President in charge of Portfolio Managment for UMB Bank, oversees the Small Business Administration's Guaranteed Lending program for UMB. His expertise in lending solutions for small businesses has catapulted UMB Bank to the number one volume SBA lender in the Kansas City market. As an active entrepreneur, he understands the challenges and benefits of entrepreneurship and has faced the numerous obstacles of starting a business, staying in business, and most importantly, being profitable.
Kris Smalley, BKD, LLP, has more than seven years experience providing federal and state tax complieance and consulting services, including FAS 109, to corporations and partnerships in a variety of industries including financial services, insurance, and manufacturing. Kris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Kansas, with a B.S. in accounting and a 2002 graduate of Kansas State University, with a Masters degree in accounting.
