Many successful business owners have no plan in place for the future of their business, whether it be to transfer the business to the next generation of employees or family members or to build the business for sale. Ths presentation will provide business owners an understanding of the importance of planning.

Understand the need for and benefits of planning for retirement, disability, or death of business owners
Understand procedures for transferring or selling business interests to business partners, family members, employees, and third parties

Mark Gilgus practices in the areas of General Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Estate Planning & Taxation. He is currently a board member of the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium and an instructor of Jurisprudence at Cleveland Chiropractic College. In the past, Mark has co-chaired the Heart of America Tax Institute and been an instructor of Business Law & Accounting at UMKC.
Katie Zogelman practices in the areas of General Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Estate Planning & Taxation, and Intellectual Property. She attended the University of Kansas School of Law, graduating Order of the Coif in 2003. Katie is a member of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City.
