October 20, 2010
8:30 to 10:30 am

There are numerous state and federal employment laws in place but it can be difficult to discern when the rules and regulations apply to business owners with fewer employees.  In this session you will learn how to manage your workforce no matter how small it may be.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn the state and federal laws pertinent to smaller businesses
  • Learn the applicability of FMLA, ADA, and COBRA
  • Learn the importance of informing your employees of the "work rules" by developing employee handbooks
  • Learn how to protect your proprietary information with employee contracts

Trina R. Le Riche concentrates her practice in the areas of Labor and Employment Law.  She has extensive experience counseling clients in litigation avoidance, negotiating and drafting severance agreements, conducting on-site workplace investigations, presenting training seminars, and speaking to employers on avoiding workplace liability.  Ms. Le Riche has represented employrs in numerous diverse industries in almost all states.

G. Nicole Hininger defends employers and management in employment-related disputes in various forums, focusing primarily on discrimination, retaliation, harrassment, and wrongful discharge cases.  Ms. Hininger's extensive employment litigation experience includes jury and bench trials, employment arbitrations, arguing dispositive motions in court, representing employers in settlement conferences and mediation, and defending EEOC on-site inspections.
