Name: Arts & Issues Luncheon - Live at the Folly!
Date: September 8, 2006
Time: 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM CDT
Event Description:

Live at the Folly! Featuring husband & wife pianists Slava & Lana Levin

Join us for a real lunchtime treat at the Folly Theater! This fall, Kansas City's oldest theatre marks the 25th anniversary of the original renovation and grand reopening. Doug Tatum, Folly exec. director, shares the stage with Slava and Lana Levin, husband & wife pianists, to open our eyes and ears to the wonders of this historic landmark. In addition to a short performance, the internationally-acclaimed Levins will share the story of their coming to the U.S. as immigrant "Old World" musicians. Trained at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, they studied with the most outstanding musicians of our generation.

You'll also hear about an outstanding Folly anniversary season including: their 25th Anniversary Gala featuring Bob Newhart & Walter Cronkite on Saturday, October 28th; "I Can't Stop Loving You," a revue of 36 songs by Ray Charles; "Into Fall with Kacico Dance," a contemporary dance performance and a Friends of the Chamber Music event featuring pianist Vladimir Feltsman.

Experience the legacy of the Folly at this unique lunchtime event.
