Given the economic roller coaster of recent months, a little prayer and inspiration are just what the doctor ordered.

On Wednesday, February 18 at 7:30 am, the 48th Annual Regional Mayors' Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center. 115 mayors and other officials from throughout the Greater Kansas City region will be recognized.

Keynote speaker Woody Cozad - featured commentator on KCPT Channel 19's "Ruckus" - will focus on George Washington and his ordeal at Valley Forge. Those who've heard Cozad before on this subject say, "When he finished, there wasn't a dry eye in the house."

Tickets for the Mayors' Prayer Breakfast are $35; tables of ten are available for $350.

The Mattie Rhodes Center is the beneficiary of the proceeds from this year's breakfast. Mattie Rhodes provides bilingual and bicultural mental health and social services tailored especially for Latinos. It also offers art education for all ages and a family-friendly gallery.
